2010 Georgia Student Leadership Forum
The Georgia Student Leadership Forum exists to bring together future leaders to consider the true meaning of leadership. Student leaders from colleges and universities in Georgia and across the south come together with business, political, sports, performing arts, and community leaders to discuss the relevance of values and faith in professional and private life. The Forum encourages dialogue on various components of true leadership: serving, listening, reconciling division, building unity, and speaking truth. The Forum takes students to dinner at the Governor's Mansion to hear some of the most successful men and women in the state share from their experiences. Students also travel to the poorest neighborhoods of Atlanta to participate in a work project and consider serving others. Throughout the weekend, students are challenged, questioned, and share thoughts and ideas in small groups hosted by facilitators.
As our model for leadership, we look to Jesus of Nazareth. Around the world, political and religious institutions recognize the importance of his words and methods of leadership. We explore his teachings in light of many important issues facing our communities, our nation, and our world today.
The 15th annual forum will be held January 22 - 24, 2010, in Atlanta, our state's capital.
